ABSTRACT NURSING CARE IN An. S WITH TYPHOID FEVER PROVIDED STORY TELLING THERAPY TO REDUCE ANXIETY DUE TO HOSPITALIZATION IN ADVENT INDONESIA UNIVERSITY CLINIC Rois Sahidin, S. Kep NIM: 1953061 Typhoid fever is an acute infectious disease of the small intestine with symptoms of fever for 7 days or more. Typhoid fever is caused by the bacteria salmonella typhi. Hospitalization of hospitalized pediatric patients can cause anxiety and stress. Stress in children can be prevented by providing an explanation of the treatment procedures and the benefits of hospitalization for children. Story telling is non-pharmacological therapy that is done without using drugs. The goal is to make children happy or to be an entertainment when the child is hospitalized with a long treatment, besides that it can help train children's language development to interact with other people. The purpose of this scientific paper is to analyze and provide a real picture of the planning of therapy distraction techniques for playing story telling to An. S with typhoid fever. This writing method uses descriptive writing. The results of the observations and actions taken by the author to An.S during the 3-day treatment, namely story telling therapy can reduce anxiety levels due to the impact of hospitalization. Suggestions to health workers need to be made to improve pediatric nursing care that is more creative in order to support the recovery of children according to their stage of development.
