ABSTRACT NURSING CARE FOR MR. D WITH ACUTE RESPIRATORY DISTRESS SYNDROME (ARDS): COVID-19 WITH HFNO OXYGENATION THERAPY IN ISOLATION ROOM OF BANDUNG ADVENTIST HOSPITAL’s EMERGENCY UNIT Yosep Ruben Samuel Jayadibrata, S.Kep ID: 1953051 Background: ARDS is a complication of COVID-19 that results in hypoxemia in patients. The writing of this scientific paper is based on a report that the use of HFNO can be a therapeutic option in ARDS: COVID-19 patients without intubation. Purpose: To report on the implementation of nursing care to Mr. D with ARDS: COVID-19 with HFNO oxygenation therapy in Isolation Room of Bandung Adventist Hospital’s Emergency Unit. Methods: Methods of data collection used are: literature study, case studies, interviews, and documentation. Results: The assessment showed that the patient experienced shortness of breath, rapid and shallow breathing, respiratory rate more than 30 times per minute, oxygen saturation below 80%, breathing using accessory muscles, fever and positive sputum production. Nursing diagnoses: impaired gas exchanged; (2) ineffective airway clearance; and (3) Hypertemia. Evaluation: nursing problems that are not resolved are impaired gas exchange and ineffective airway clearence. A partially resolved problem is hyperthermia. Suggestion: There should be a study on the effectiveness use of HFNO therapy for increasing blood oxygen levels in ARDS: COVID-19 patients with hypoxemia.
