ABSTRACT NURSING CARE TO NY. C WITH RESPIRATORY DISORDERS: PLEURA EFFUSION IS GIVENPOSITION ACTION SEMI FOWLER FOR COMFORT IN WEST WINGS III RS SWASTA BANDUNG Tesyalonika Fitrianti 1852004 Background: Pleural effusion is a buildup of fluid in the pleural cavity which is divided into exudates and transudates. Pleural effusion can be said to be a manifestation of various diseases. The most frequent symptoms of pleural effusion are shortness of breath and chest pain such as stabbing or pressure and radiating to the gut. This is caused by the accumulation of too much fluid in the pleura, so that gas exchange is inadequate. Treatment of pleural effusion can be done by means of pharmacological therapy and can also be done by means of non-pharmacological therapy, namely by giving theposition Semi Fowler. Aim: This scientific paper aims to apply nursing care to pleural effusion sufferers by being given theposition action Semi Fowler to relieve pain and tightness in order to provide comfort. Method: This paper is a descriptive case study with a single subject using nursing process problem solving. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and physical examination by means of inspection, palpation, percussion, and auscultation. Diagnosis: The results of the assessment found that the client experienced a feeling of discomfort. The diagnosis that appeared on Mrs. C, namely: Pain associated with inflammation of the pleura, ineffective breathing patterns associated with decreased O2 supply, activity intolerance associated with weakness. Planning is prepared according to the client's nursing problem. Implementation is carried out according to the prepared plan. all interventions can be applied according to the existing conditions. Conclusion: After 3 days of treatment, Mrs. C is partially resolved. The evaluation results show that the implementation of theposition semi-fowler givencan be completed in accordance with the objectives made. Therefore, it is recommended that theposition is semi-fowler carried out to help increase comfort in patients with complaints of pain and shortness of breath.
