ABSTRACT NURSING CARE OF MRS. “S” WITH AMOEBIC DYSENTRY: WARM COMPRESS THERAPY MANAGEMENT IN ROOM 1 OF UNIVERSITAS ADVENT INDONESIA’S CLINIC Arranged by: MERSI SUSANTI NADE NIM: 2053004 Background: We often encounter amoebic dysentery among children and adults due to poor environmental sanitation and living habits that cause the ingestion of Entamoeba histolytica cysts that develop in the human digestive tract which in turn causes dysentery and which is accompanied by acute pain in the abdominal area. Therefore, pain management using warm compress therapy is needed. Purpose: The purpose of this research paper was to explore the nursing care given to Mrs. S with amoebic dysentery using warm compress therapy management to reduce pain. Method: The study was done using descriptive method in the form of case reports by collecting data through observations, interviews, documentation studies, and literature studies. Results: The results of the study found out that the patient complained of pain in the abdominal area, three times a day diarrhea mixed with blood, anxiety and lack of appetite due to nausea. Nursing diagnoses found were First: Disorders of comfort: pain, The actions given were: warm compress therapy, Second: Anxiety, The action given was deep breathing, Third: Risk of lack of fluid volume, The action given was giving RL 30 gtt, and the Fourth: The risk of nutritional imbalance: less than the body’s needs, The action given is soft food therapy in warm conditions. Suggestion: For the nursing field, it is hoped that the study could become a reference point in providing management in nursing care in dealing with patient’s pain with amoebic dysentery utilizing the SOP.
