Franklin Hutabarat Date Completed : May 9, 2014 This mini thesis made by the author by examining the perception of people about doing cash and non-cash transactions on the Sabbath. The author focused the research by surveying 30 members of Eben Haezer Seventhday Adventists Church, with a view to see how far the understanding of the church on the theology of Sabbath, things that can and cannot be performed on the Sabbath as well as transactions that should and should not be either cash or non-cash in Sabbath. Through the research literature discussed above three indicators, namely, the Theology of Sabbath explains that the Sabbath is a sign that God is The Creator, Savior, and The Lord who sanctifies His people. In the second indicator on the Sabbath work that is earn a living, self-centered activities, and all of the activities that will take humans away from God is not permissible. But based on those life-saving work of love could be done. The third indicator is followed by transaction buying and selling should not be performed, but there are emergency situations where a transaction is unavoidable due to external circumstances, and the transaction is legitimate on the Sabbath. From the results of the study through questionnaires distributed, the authors obtained the following data: 1. Questionnaire with indicators for theology of Sabbath church perception of all existing statements as a whole is very good. 2. Questionnaire with indicators for the things that can and cannot be performed on the Sabbath, for the positive meaning statement, the perception of the church of all existing statements is very good. As for the negative meaning statement, the church's perception of the statements is not good. 3. Questionnaire with indicators for transactions that can and cannot be performed both cash and non cash, positive meaning statement, the perception of the church of all existing statements is good. As for the negative meaning statement, the perception of the church of all existing statements is good because the church does not agree to the negative statements. Thus, the overall perception of the church from 30 respondents to the positive statements are good where they are agreed response. While the overall perception of the 30 respondents of the congregation to negative statements are good either where the church's response to the statements that has negative meaning is disagree. However, there are three statements where the church still undecided. That is about to play a game that is both foster the spirit of competition, colporteur work, and fundraising for the sake of ministry performed on the Sabbath. The results of the study authors concluded that the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Eben Haezer have a pretty good understanding in respect of the cash and noncash transactions on the Sabbath.
