PENGARUH PEMBERIAN DOSIS CURCUMIN TERHADAP POLA PENURUNAN KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH PUASA PADA TIKUS WISTAR TERINDUKSI ALOKSAN

ABSTRACT EFFECT OF CURCUMIN DOSE ON DECREASED TRENDLINE OF BLOOD GLUCOSE IN ALLOXAN-INDUCED WISTAR RATS Kapas Fernando Pasaribu NIM: 1141006 Dose of curcumin to decreased blood glucose level in wistar rats induced alloxan have been done. Alloxan-inducted in wistar rats give effect to pancreatic β cells damage that lead to diabetes with increases of blood glucose level. In this study, curcumin in various dose have given. Three of different doses of curcumin was given orally to each treatment group. Positive and negative conrol of treatment group were not given curcumin is used as a comparison. Blood glucose were measured every 2 days to get trendline of change in each group. After 5 days of treatment, the rate of decrease in blood glucose level were significant, was observed. From three different dose of curcumin were used to decrease blood glucose level found that curcumin at dose of 300 mg/kg was optimal to lower blood glucose level. From the result, it was found that use curcumin at dose of 300 mg/kg is a solution to agains β cells damage in pancreas to produce insulin in diabetics.
