ABSTRACT CURCUMIN DOSE EFFECT OF REDUCTION CONCENTRATION IN SGOT WISTAR RATS ALLOXAN INDUCED Yuki Setiono NIM 1041012 Curcumin has been used to influence the concentrations of serum glutamate oxaloacetic transaminase ( SGOT ) in Wistar rats alloxan induced male sex. Increased concentrations of AST liver function caused by damage that caused by the impact of high levels of blood glucose. Three different doses of curcumin used in this study were administered orally to groups of diabetic rats. Positive control group of mice that alloxan induced only used as a control. After three different doses of curcumin treatment was given for five days and then were analyzed using ANOVA statistical test, it was found that there has been no significant decrease in blood SGOT concentration of rats but still observed the changes occurring compared to the control group. Three different doses of curcumin were used, it was found that curcumin at a dose of 500 mg/kg of body weight had the most excellent ability in reducing the concentration of AST compared to other doses. From these results suggest that the use of curcumin at a dose of 500 mg/kg of body weight is a better way to solving the problem of physiological damage to diabetics compared to other doses. Keywords: diabetes, curcumin, SGOT .
