ABSTRACT PHILOSOPHICAL ANALYSIS OF THE WORD "THE LORD WILL SEND ELIJAH THE PROPHET BEFORE THE COMING OF THE GREAT AND DREADFUL DAY OF THE LORD" IN THE MALACHI 4:5, AT KEBUN KEMBANG CIMAHI SEVENT DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH Joko Waluyo NIM: 1511012 In this study, the author made a study of the understanding of “The Lord will send Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord” based on Malachi 4: 5. The author focuses on this research at Kebun Kembang Cimahi Sevent Day Adventist Church. This research has a basis with three indicators to be studied, namely: the first indicator is Elijah sent by God, the second indicator is the Lord's Day, and the third indicator is Elijah's Message based on Malachi 4: 5. This research is divided into two parts, namely through theoretical research and field research. The results of theoretical research are understanding Elijah who was sent by God, God's Day, and Elijah's Message in Malachi 4: 5. This study included three parts: (1) Elijah who was sent by God, according to the Bible and some experts stated that Elijah who was sent by God was John the Baptist who preceded the first coming of Jesus, and those who had the Spirit and power of Elijah sent to prepare the way for the second coming of Jesus, including the disciples / apostles, Ellen G. White, William Miller, the priests, and the people of God who are waiting for His second coming. (2) The Lord's Day. Experts say this is a day of joy, but it is also mentioned as a day of judgment. Understanding this purpose, the Lord's Day in Malachi 4: 5 is the day of Jesus' second coming, which will bring joy to the righteous and will be a day of judgment or punishment for the wicked. (3) Elijah's message. Experts claim that this is a message that contains warnings and reproof to the people of God, and to everyone to be willing to wait for the second coming of Jesus. It is also mentioned in the last days as a triple message or Three Angels message in Revelation 14: 6-12. The results of the field research were carried out through questionnaires distributed to 40 members of the Kebun Kembang Cimahi Seventh-day Adventist Church, which the questionnaire contained 13 questions, resulting in a data that concluded that respondents did not understand for indicators one to two, and understood well for indicator three.
