ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF GOOD CORPORATE GOVERNANCE ON FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE (Studies in Banking Companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange period 2017-2020) Written by: Angelica Zandy Wulandari Sigalingging Student ID: 1832044 This study aims to determine the effect of good corporate governance as proxied by board of independent commissioner, audit committee, and managerial ownership on financial performance as proxied by return on assets (ROA) studies in banking companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2017-2020. This research was conducted using descriptive statistical methods, classical assumption test, correlation coefficient analysis, coefficient of determination analysis, significance test, and multiple linear regression analysis. The data for this study are from the annual reports of banking companies that have been published. The secondary data will be processed using SPSS 25th version, then concluded. The results of this research analysis are simultaneously profitability proxied by board of independent commissioner, audit committee, and managerial ownership, not have a significant effect on financial performance with a significant value of 0.00 < 0.05. While the partial analysis shows that there’s not a significant effect between governance as proxied by board of independent commissioner on financial performance as proxied by ROA with a significant value of 0.054 > 0.05, there is no significant effect between good corporate governance as proxied by audit committee on financial performance as proxied by ROA with a significant value of 0.105 < 0.05, there is no significant effect between good corporate governance proxied by managerial ownership on financial performance as proxied by ROA with a significant value of 0.541 < 0.05 Keywords: Good Corporate Governance, PDKI, KA, KM, Financial Performance, ROA
