ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF PROFITABILITY ON COMPANY'S LEVERAGE IN THE TRANSPORTATION SUB-SECTOR LISTED ON INDONESIA STOCK EXCHANGE IN 2019 Written by: Michelle Geslani Roring Student ID: 1832099 This study aims to determine how profitability, how leverage, and how the effect of profitability on leverage. This research was conducted on transportation subsector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2019 and the sample selection procedure using purposive sampling obtained a total sample of 42 samples. This research design uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The dependent variable and the independent variable were measured by a ratio scale. The analytical method used in processing statistical data analysis is simple linear regression through descriptive statistical tests, assumption tests, correlation coefficient analysis, coefficient of determination analysis, simple linear regression analysis, and significant tests. The results of this study indicate that profitability has no significant effect on leverage with a significance value of 0.2596 >0,05. Keywords: Profitability, Leverage, and Indonesia Stock Exchange.
