A COMPARISON OF USING ECLECTIC APPROACH AND FLASH CARD TO IMPROVE VOCABULARY ACHIEVEMENT AT KARYAWANGI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

ABSTRACT Vocabulary achievement is very important in learning English to improve students' English vocabulary achievement. The facts in the study provide information that English vocabulary of students to be low. Therefore we need a learning model that is able to improve English vocabulary achievement. Eclectic approach involves varieties of activities, that increase the learner’s attention and focus more on the language to be learned the sample in the study was Elementary grade five Karyawangi there are 2 groups: the control is flash card approach the other one eclectic approach. Analysis of t-test statistical. It is shown that significant value (2 tailed) is 0.000 since sig < α = 0.05, Ho is rejected. That means there is a significant difference in students English vocabulary achievement different between those who received eclectic approach and those received flash card approach. It is concluded that an eclectic approach in acquiring English vocabulary achievement better than a flash card approach. Key Words: An eclectic approach, a flash card approach.
