ABSTRACT INFORMATION SYSTEM DESIGN REPORTING FINAL BALANCE OF TUITION OF UNIVERSITAS ADVENT INDONESIA STUDENTS BASED ON SMS GATEWAY Martin Luther Hamonangan Purba NIM: 1281027 Communications technology SMS (short message service) gateway is a communications technology that can send any and all information to a mobile phone number. It should be that an institution, especially a university, at the moment needs to apply this technology to deliver final balance information and student payment reports to their respective parents. The purpose of this study were to, improve information system services for students’ parents, build SMS gateway to send sms regarding final balance to parents, design a system that could inform the amount of the final student finance balance, determine the use of PHP to send the final finance balance. From the research that has been conducted, the author concludes that, the SMS system of final student finance balance report will simplify the previous working system, the means of information of final student finance balance gives an output in the form of an appropriate and correct report, SMS gateway can provide accurate information, so as to reduce anxiety for parents. For the development of this system, the author suggests having a more interesting display with better color and design, easy to learn, easy to operate, the need for system backup/restore, this SMS system can be developed to inform grades and class absence to students’ parents.
