ABSTRACT IMPLEMENTATION OF INFORMATION SYSTEM OF STUDENT ACTIVITIES SD KARTIKA X-3 PARONGPONG BASED SMS GATEWAY Lola Saryati Pakpahan NIM: 1182050 Nowadays one of the most popular technologies used for delivery of information is the use of mobile phone. SMS (short message service) is a service provided by the operator to send and receive short messages that can be delivered quickly and reach many areas. The continued development of mobile technology-based services then come SMS gateway. Currently SD Kartika X-3 Parongpong implement absences systems still using a paper, an important announcement made orally to students and reporting test scores are still using the mail. Moreover, the school communicates with parents still using the school liaison book that contains information such as homework. This study aims to (1) Parents/guardians can know the progress of students through the delivery of value given or homeroom admin via SMS Gateway-based systems, (2) Parents/guardians get important announcements related to activities at school such as student absenteeism, tasks, and others, (3) Books to manual link is not required in the delivery of information so there is no excuse for students to miss the information because the book missing link, (4) Schools can accept criticism/suggestions from parents/guardians in order to provide input for developing the value and quality of the school. The method used the waterfall method. This method is a software development systematic and sequential start at the level of analysis, design, code, test, and implementation. The results of this study indicate that the parent/guardian to easily communicate with the school about the student activities and to improve the value and quality of schools through criticism and suggestions from parents/guardians of students.
