The author focused this research to the members of Salemba Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jakarta. This research is based on three understandings of the phrase "sons of God" in Genesis 6:4 which are, sons of God as the angels, the inhabitants of a pfanet other than Earth and Heaven, and the posterity of Seth. This research is divided into two parts, theoretical research and field research. The results of the theoretical- research on the interpretation of the "sons of God" in Genesis 6:4 found out that t.he intermarrJ-age in Genesis 6 is between the "sons of God" who are the posterity of Seth with the "daughters of men" who are the posterity of Cain, Theoretical- research al-so found that the meaning of "sons" in the Bibl-e is an embodiment of nature, character, and dispositj-on. Therefore, the terms and condltions to be called "sons of God" is to realize the nature, character, and disposition of God. The results of field research which was conducted through distributed questionnaires to 50 members of Salemba Seventh-day Adventist Church produced a sumlnary that respondents understood that the intermarriage in Genesis 6 is not a marriage between an angel and a human, or an inhabitants of other pfanets with a human, yet respondents stil-1 doubted that the intermarriage is between the posterity of Seth and Cain. Fiel-d research is al-so found that respondents had not had a good understanding about the Biblical concept of terms and conditions to be called the "sons of God."
