At that time, the tord has not set the Institution of the Priesthood. It turns out that they are the children of Aaron and the Seventy El,ders of fsrael. The Bible does not explain in detaif what happened, but in fact God has planned the Institution of the Priesthood of as a teaching aid for the Savior's coming, in order for Him to prepare the representative of Him. Exodus 19:6 is the fuffiffment of God's promise that had been told by Him for fong time ago to Abraham (Genesj.s 1,5; 16, and 17:7). The Israel-ites are God's chosen people, but because they had been stubborn to God, the Lord finally no longer saw them as His chosen people (Hosea 4:6, Matthew 2!:43). But today, God's chosen people are the whole group of people that has been known as Christians. 1 Peter 2:9 says that God's people is "chosen people, a royal priesthood, hoJ,y nati.on, a people belonging to God alone." The duty of Christians as God's chosen people is to preach God's great works and be a good example to others as Jesus did to everyone.
