PENGARUH ZAT PENGATUR TUMBUH TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN TUMBUH TANAMAN TOMAT (Solanum lycopersicum L.)

ABSTRACT EFFECT OF GROWTH SOLVING AGENTS TO TOMATO PLANT GROWTH (Solanum lycopersicum L.) Agustina Sihotang NIM: 1441016 Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is a highland vegetable horticultural plant f the Solanaceae family which is one of the world's main foodstuffs after rice, wheat and corn, because of its superiority in supplying high vitamin C. Tomato demand increases from year to year along with population growth. Basically the problems faced by tomato farmers in Indonesia such as cultural technology, whether in the selection of seeds, planting, fertilizing, pest and disease control until post-harvest handling. Most of the farmers in Indonesia mostly still use a very simple conventional farming method, especially in the use of fertilizers by using only NPK fertilizer. Drought stresses farmers is another constraints in the cultivation of tomato plants. This study uses Murashige and Skoog Media on the Growth of Tomato Planlet (Solanum lycopersicum L.) where hormones (NAA, GA3, and NAA + GA3) were being added as treatment and were compared with non-hormone as control group. The data of this study is the number of roots, root length and plantlet height growth. The result of this research, using ANOVA at α = 0,05 shows that: (1) Hormones do not affects the number of planlet roots with p = 0.129 (greater than α = 0,05), (2) Hormones do not affects the length of the planlet root with p = 0.143 (greater than α = 0,05), (3) Hormones do not affects the growth of the planlet height with p = 0.646 (greater than α = 0,05). Therefore this study concluded that hormones do not significantly affects the growth of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.)
