ABSTRACT ANTIOXIDANT ACTIWTY OF BOUGENWLLE LE/IF EXTRACT (BOUGAINWLL,4E GI,ABRA CHOISI USING DPPH M E T'H O D ( l, 1 - D I PH E l,tYL- 2 - P I CRI L H YD RA ZYL) Novia Damayanti ItilM:0941(M Antioxidants are compounds that can inhibit oxidation by reacting wrth reactive free radicals to form a non-reactive and stable free radicals. In the search for natural antioxidant compowds, this research in testing the antioxidant activities of Bougainvillea leaves @ougenvillae glabra Chois) in the form of Ethanol Extract, Dichloromethane Fraction, and Acid Fraction, with various concentrations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 ppm and measured by spectrophotometry after one and a 24-hour using DPPH (1 ,1 -diphenyl-2- pikrilhidrazil) was done. In Testing the chemical compounds it shows that Bougainvillea leaves contdin alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolic monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, Triterpenoids and saponins. Concentrated ethanol eatract of bougainvillea leaves obtained the yield of 3.76% or ll.3g out of 300 g crude material. Fractination using dichloromethane and acid from ethanol extract obtained the yield of 179% of acid fraction and 118% of dichloromethane fraction. The test results showed that the antioxidont activity of the ethanol extract and dichloromethan fraction 24 hours after being mixed with DPPH at concentrations of l000ppm has the highest antioridant activity with the overage value of 899.26. Ihe results of this study showed a significaru antioxidant activity of ethanol extract I how afier being mlxed with DPPH with the value of p : 0.000. However, descriptively the results of this study on the antioxidant activity of all variables showed an increase in ruonbers. Keywords: Extractiory Bougenvillae glabra Chois, antioxidants, DPPH
