ABSTRACT STUDENT ATTENDANCE SYSTEM USING FINGERPRINTS AND SMS GATEWAY BASED ON CLOW COMPUTING Agung Budi Setiawan NIM: ll8l02E Technologt of cloud comput@ everyone leases most pertinent information quicHy and accarately. Communication technologies SMS (short message service) gateway k a communication technologt that can send all information to any mobile phone. It stands to the needs of a particttlar institution schools ctrrently applyrng these technologies to deliver information on class attendance to the parent / guardian. The purpose of this research was (l) to design and implement student attendance system using fingerprint and SMS Gatewoy-Based Cloud Computing. (2) Test the accuracy and efrcienc), of information systems student attendance, as well as notifcation system test performed. The method used is the system development which consists ofJive stages, there are, (l) planning, (2) analysis, (3) design, (4) implementation, and (5) reporting. After doing research, which has been designed system can be entered into the comryter via the fingerprint. Attendance system sch(nl atterrdance can be processed and tnformed to the parents or guardians of students. Attendance information tool provides output in the form of reporting coftectly. SMS gateway can provide information on whether the presence of students in the class to the parents or guardians of students. The results of this research concluded that, (l) attendance system can be entered into the computer via the fingerpnnt. (2) attendance system school attendance can be processed and informed to the parents or guardians of the students thereby increasing to their confidence in the school because it has received confirmation that the student has been absent from school. (3) The means gives output in theform of atlendance information reporting correctly. (4) SMS gatewoy cdn gives information to parents or guardians of students that the student has present in the classroom so that it can reduce anxiety for parents / guardians of the students. As for the suggestion that the author gave to the development of systems that have been made are (1) ilisplay / inteface more user-friendly as it has a color display and a nice design, easier to operate, easier to learn, and give the user tastes in general. (2) attendance reports which can be directly imported into .xls format, (3) The existence of a system backup / restore for system administrators or school administralors in order in case of user error or other factors such as a virus, corntpted fles, computers snd machine prin* finger error, blackouts, natural disasters, etc., the system has the data backup of the lost data.
