ABSTRACT THE DESIGN OF THESIS GUIDANCE INFORMATION SYSTEM IN UNIVERSITAS ADVENT INDONESIA BASED ON PHP USING FRAMEWORK CODEIGNITER SELVINUS LAIA Nim: 1282021 The technology of information and communication were growing rapidly, and they have a lot of impact in aspects of life. One of them had implications for students and lecturers. Students and lecturers actually can be easier to monitor the preparation of the thesis without printed by utilizing advanced technology at the moment, without having to waste time to constantly monitor it manually. Therefore, the author had an idea to design this application at the Faculty of Technology in Universitas Advent Indonesia who monitor preparation of the thesis by utilizing thesis guidance information system applications based on PHP using CodeIgniter Framework. This system was useful for students to do the thesis revisions with their advisor, but for this system only students and lecturers were entitled to access it through the username and password that provided by the admin. The purpose of this study was the entire system at the Universitas Advent Indonesia can be integrated online, thus it could help the students to reduce spending money in doing their thesis, because students no longer need to print their paper files anymore. The thesis guidance information that designed by the author must have a function to do the revisions, comments, additions and reporting which could help students in completing their final project and all matters relating to the guidance of the thesis. In this application the students could send their thesis files to be revised by the advisor in the comments space provided. And with this system the students who want to complete their final project would enjoy the easiness in doing their their thesis especialy for the student who is compleing their thesis as a requirement for final project. The result of this system can accelerate and streamline students in doing their thesis or final project. Keywords: submission of thesis guidance, Web, PHP, CodeIgniter
