ABSTRAC]T Telecommunications technology as a means of dissemination of infonnation right now, has many used in various fields one of them in education. That is why it o1"a " qoll6rrnication media is fas! easy and inexpensive for the delivery of information to users of the information. SMS (Sort Messaging Services) is one of ttre mobile telecommunications servic€ facility technolo gy a, vety widely used now and can firlfill those requirements. Adventis University of Indonesia (JNA[) is to have a boarding program, because it needs the service SMS as the notification system that attendanc€ will b€ delivered to paretrts, the deao, deparment chair and faculty stud€nt guadian. Expected with the building of this sms based system, parents and the UDai, wifl cooperate in monitoring the education of the students. The system using the SMS Broadcast or a one-way means that only the university attendance information is sent every time the student did not attend classes, they will rcceive a text message automatically at intervals from the rmiversity. The methodology used in this res€arch according to date from the Bureau of Academic Administration @AA), which existing at the database server. This data will be usd to desigp the system in this thesis. The system is built using Wavecom modem, the SIM Card GSM mobile operator and using tool Gammu as a connecting between the computer tools with SMSC (Sort Messaging Service Center).
