PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE NUMBERED HEAD TOGETHER (NHT) TERHADAP PENCAPAIAN MATEMATIKA SISWA PADA POKOK BAHASAN PERSAMAAN GARIS LURUS DI SMPN 1 CISARUA

Abstract This study investigared the effects ofthe cooperative learning type numbered head together and traditional leaming model on academic achievement of students in mathematics in order to find out which one of them is the more effective leaming strategy-. The sample of the study was 76 student 8h grade in middle school randomly selected from two classes of eight classes in SMPN I Cisarua Two instruments were used namely Mathematics Prc-Test Achievement Test and Post - Test Achievement Test to collect data. 20- item multiple choice was developed for the purpose of data collection. For the reliability of the scale, KR-20 (Kuder Richardson-20) reliability analysis was performe( and KR-20 reliability coefficient was found to be 0.68, and rpu, (Point Biserial) were used to find the validity. Data collected in this study were subjected to t-test analysis at o = 0.05 level ofsignificance. The findings revealed that cooperative learning type numbered head together is more effective than traditional leaming model. Based on the findings, cooperative leaning strategy should be introduced in our secondary school.
