ABSTRACT THE UNDERSTANDING OF “GOD'S JEALOUSY” BASED ON NAHUM 1:2 BY THE SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH MEMBER BINTARO IMMANUEL JAKARTA Leonardo Siahaan NIM: 1311015 The author examines the "jealousy of God" in the Bintaro Immanuel Jakarta congregation, as well as the application of the context of this verse in the congregation itself. This research is specifically addressed to the congregation of Bintaro Immanuel Jakarta. The research has 4 indicators, namely: (1) "Jealousy of God", (2) "The cause of God’s jealousy", (3) "The purpose of God‘s jealousy", and (4) the application of the three things in the life of the congregation. This research is divided into two parts, namely research in theory and field research. The result of the theory research on "jealousy of God" is a form of human expression or human language to express the magnitude of God's attention to man. So God does not want to lose human as His creation, especially worship and behavior of human life. God Himself who may and should be worshiped and all sins will give rise to the jealousy of God because human being is more obedient to the devil than to God who gives everything to him. Therefore, the believer should reject all forms of spiritual adultery and sin. The field research made by the author are devided into four parts, namely: (1) "God’s jealousy", (2) "The cause of God’s jealousy", (3) "The purpose of God’s jealousy", and (4) "Differences of God's jealousy and human jealousy" The results of field research through questionnaires to 30 members of the Bintaro Immanuel congregation produced data stating that all respondents understood fairly well about "God’s jealousy", This is evident from the average score of the jealousy of God is only God is to be worshipped and it is an expression that God loves human beings with a value of 4.56 means strongly agree. Cause God is jealous of any form of spiritual adultery and all the sins committed with human values mean 4.17 means agree. God's jealousy purpose is to declare His subordinate divinity, His power, His love, and to improve the purity of the faith of the man with the mean value for mean 4.05 agreed. The difference of human Jealousy and jealousy of God is God is jealous for the good of mankind While human jealousy to satisfy themselves with the values of mean 4.17 with weights agreed. So the conclusion all of God's jealousy for spiritual adultery and sin the average of all data is 4.23 with agreeable weight. Keywords: God's Jealousy, Spiritual Adultery, Love, Punishment.
