ANALISA ALAT PERTAHANAN DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN HONEYD TERHADAP SERANGAN BUFFER OVERFLOW PADA LINUX UBUNTU 12.04

Abstract Honeyd is one of many honeypot applications was familiar used today. Honeyd can create virtual host and emulate service like original host. Honeyd can detect all attacks directed to the virhral host that is create by Honeyd. However, based on the results of the sfudy authors Honeyd can not detect buffer overflow attacks aimed to the virtual host that has been created by Honeyd is because honeyd is Low Interaction Honeypot so that attack can not be detected by Honeyd. Therefore, the authors use wireshark as additional applications that can detect attacks that aredirected to the virtual host especially buffer overflow. Honeyd is a Low Interaction Honeypot thus have limitations in simulating the interaction of the virtual host. To enhance security by using honeypot author suggests to use High Interaction Honeypot which can simulate the interactions are very complex. Keywords: Honeypo! Honeyd, gsanning, footprinting.
