ABSTRACT THE INFLUENCE OF LEARNING TECHNIQUE AND LEARNING MOTIVATION ON READING SKILLS OF ENGLISH AT SMA ADVENT SALEMBA, KRAMAT PULO AND CIRACAS JAKARTA Name : Daniel M. Sitompul NIM : 1434015 This study aims to determine whether there is influence Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model and Learning Motivation on Reading Skills of English. Research has been conducted on 14 to 31 April 2016 for the Adventist high school in Jakarta, namely SMA Advent Salemba, SMA Advent Kramat Pulo and SMA Advent Ciracas. The research method used is quantitative, with a sample of 132 students of class X are taken from two different classes. This research is used to reveal about the effect of learning motivation and learning techniques of reading skill of English. Data taken with a questionnaire and analyzed using multiple regression analysis. Descriptive analysis aims to determine how students' motivation, learning methods and language skills of reading English. The research instrument used was questionnaires with five alternative answers of 55 questions. From the calculation results 't' test (α = 0.05) was found t count X1 (2,010) > t table (1,978) and X2 t count (-1,380) < t table (1,978). It can be concluded that cooperative learning model Jigsaw have a significant influence for the students in reading skills of English than students taught using conventional method.
