There has been an understanding conflict between scholars and also occur between the congregation of Eklesia Semarang. So, the congregation need a correct explanation of the analogy of the olive tree conveyed by Paul in Romans 11: 17,18a This olive tree analogy was expressed by Paul in the context of the Israelites who had failed as a chosen nation. The Israelites failed because they did not obey God's law and rejected Jesus, so that Israel's relationship with God was severed and totally destroyed. In AD 70 Jerusalem was destroyed and the Israelites collapsed completely. The Israelites failed nationally but still had the remnant people of the apostles and early Christians. Furthermore, the Gentiles were called to be the elect, were united with the remaining Jewish nation to form a universal church. Furthermore, the Gentiles were warned by Paul not to boast over the failed Jewish nation, for the Gentiles would also suffer the same fate as the Israelites if they did not remain in the divine of God. It is also a warning to the church of God today. The church of God today will also suffer the same fate as the nation of Israel if they do not keep faith, repent, and obedience to God's law So, this study has five research variables as follows: First, the theological meaning of the analogy of olive trees in Romans 11: 17, 18a.
