ABSTRACT AN ANALYSIS OF PROHIBITION OF DIFFERENT BELIEF MARRIAGE IN NGENTAK SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH YOGYAKARTA BASED ON DEUTERONOMY 7:3, 4 Brahmana Wicaksana NIM: 1211001 This research was conducted in Ngentak Adventist Church. It was known that for years the church members have recognized what is Christian marriage but some of them still implement different beliefs marriage. Therefore, the aim of this research is to find out how far the church members’ understanding of the God’ prohibition about marriages with the Canaanites to the Israelites that written in Deuteronomy 7:3, 4, the meaning of Christian marriage, husband-wife role according to the Bible, the youth looking for the partner of life and different belief marriage. This research is divided into two parts, theoretical research and field research. The theory result through review of literature is to understand that God forbids the Israelites having marriages with the Canaanites, the meaning of Christian marriage, husband-wife role according to the Bible, the youth who is looking for the partner of life and different belief marriage. Meanwhile, the result from the field through questionnaire is to find out how far the church members’ understanding about 5 indicators: (1) the reason why God forbids the Israelites having marriages with the Canaanites; (2) The meaning of Christian marriage; (3) Husband-wife Role; (4) The youth who is looking for the partner of life; and (5) Different belief marriage. Finally, through the answers from 30 respondents, it was obtained that they understood well the statements from that 5 indicators. However, it also was obtained that some of them still did not understand yet for 5 indicators. Thus, this research result, specially, can increase and awake the understanding of Ngentak church members about the marriage and generally, can be useful for all Adventist church members in Indonesia.
