ABSTRACT COMPARISON OF OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA RISK IN COLLEGE STUDENT BETWEEN NORMAL, OVERWEIGHT, AND OBESITY BODY MASS INDEX AT ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY OF INDONESIA Arranged by: Shannon Olivia Janabelle NIM: 1651038 Body Mass Index (BMI) is one of the factors that can cause OSA. The greater the value of BMI, the more likely it is to experience OSA. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of the risks of OSA with BMI normal, overweight, and obesity in university students of Adventist University of Indonesia. The study design was comparative descriptive with 90 student respondents devided into three groups according to BMI, i.e. normal (18,5 – 25,0 kg/m2), overweight (25,1 - 27 kg/m2), and obesity (> 27,0 kg/m2). Data obtained using Modified Berlin Questionnaire (MBQ). The results of the study are students with normal BMI are very many who are low risk and very view are high risk. Students with overweight BMI are many who are low risk and few have high risk. Studens with obesity BMI are few who are low risk and many have high risk. Statistical test results show that there is significant difference in the risk of OSA in students with normal BMI, overweight and obesity, and there is no significant difference in the risk of OSA between overweight BMI and obesity in UNAI students. Thus it is expected that students who are at risk of OSA to make prevention by decreasing weight. Keywords: OSA risk, Body Mass Index, MBQ
