ABSTRACT Nursing Care "P" TN: BY GIVING SOCIAL SUPPORT TO THE LEUKEMIA CASE ACUTE MIELOID IN RS. ADVENT BANDUNG Ade Rimond Julio P NIM: 1953024 Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a blood cancer characterized by malignant transformation and disruption of the differentiation of progenitor cells from the myeloid series. If left untreated, this disease will result in rapid death within a few weeks to months after diagnosis. Individuals suffering from chronic diseases such as leukemia, directly or indirectly also experience interference with their psychological condition, called psychophysiology which means that the psyche or mind has an effect on the body and vice versa. Social support is needed in reducing stress which can trigger anxiety experienced by patients while undergoing treatment. Descriptive method is used in the preparation of this case report by explaining nursing care done to one patient with a nursing diagnosis of helplessness in the orchid room of Advent Indonesia Hospital. The condition of patients with powerlessness interferes with the process of medical action undertaken so emotional support nursing interventions are given so that patients experience improvement in their psychosocial condition and be cooperative. The provision of nursing care related to mental conditions in patients can be considered more deeply for better results. Key Word: Emotional support, Acute myeloid leukemia, Powerlessness
