UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN EKSTRAK TEMU LAWAK (Curcuma xanthorrhiza), TEMU KUNCI (Boensenbergia pandurata), TEMU MANGGA (Curcuma mangga val.), DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE 1,1-DIFENIL-2- PIKRILHIDRAZIL (DPPH)
XMLANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY OF TEMU LAWAK (Curcuma xanthorrhiza), TEMU KUNCI (Boensenbergia pandurata), TEMU MANGGA (Curcuma mango val.) EXTRACTS USING 1,1-DIPHENYL-2- PICRYLHYDRAZYL (DPPH) METHOD Nama: Janice Pauline Kusumawardhany NIM: 1641005 ABSTRACT A research has been carried out in testing antioxidant activity on Temu Lawak (Curcuma xanthorriza), Temu Kunci (Boensenbergia pandurata), and Temu Mangga (Curcuma manga val.) using 1,1-Diphenyl-2-Picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). In this study, the simplicia was macerated using three solvents namely dichloromethane, methanol and hexane. The macerated product is then solidified using vacuum rotary evaporator. The rendement data obtain shows that Temu lawak diluted in methanol gives the highest rendemency of 29.06% and the lowest found in Temu kunci diluted in dichloromethane (10.53%). Further testing of antioxidant activity using the DPPH method where the macerated simplicias were diluted in ethanol to make concentration variations of 12.5 ppm, 25 ppm, 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 200 ppm, 400 ppm and 800 ppm. Each sample was reacted with DPPH solution and the data was tested using a spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 517 nm. The data gathered were analyzed using Factorial Analysis of Variance 3x3x7 and the results shows that: (1) There is a significant differences in antioxidant activity based on the type of extracted simplicia of the different plants with p = 0,000, the Duncan multiple range test shows that Temu lawak extract has the best antioxidant activity (270,995%); (2) there is a significant differences in antioxidant activity based on the type of solvents with p = 0,000, the Duncan multiple range test shows that Dichloromethane has the best antioxidant activity (29.3464%); (3) there is a significant differences in antioxidant activity based on the type on in the concentration variations with p = 0,000, the Duncan multiple range test shows that 800 ppm has the best antioxidant activity (46,56%); and (4) there is a significant differences in the antioxidant activities in the interaction of the three variables. Therefore, it is concluded that Temu lawak extracts, Dichloromethane solvent, concentration variations of the extract of 800 ppm, and interaction of the three variables shows a significant antioxidant activation..
