ABSTRACT ANALYSIS UNDERSTANDING OF SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH MEMBERS IN SIMALINGKAR, MEDAN OF THE PHRASE GLORIFYING GOD WITH THE BODY AND CLOTHING IN I CORINTHIANS 6:20 Vakto Vienjen Siringo-ringo NIM: 1611055 In this study, the writer tries to examine the Understanding of Seventh-day Adventist Church Members of Simalingkar, Medan on the phrase "Glorifying God with the Body and Clothing" in I Corinthians 6:20. This research is based on three indicators: Biblical Definition of glorifying God; Definition of glorifying God with the body; and Understanding glorifying God associated with clothing. This research is divided into two main sections, namely theoretical research and field research. The result of this theoretical research is, regarding the meaning of glorifying God with clothes, the Bible has written that humans are God's creations. God created man and always together with humans. Humans are a unity of body and soul. He created man and gives every soul freedom of thinking, and follow his own beliefs. Thus each one of us will give an account of himself to God. This is a very important thing to know, by the way we dress we have already introduced who our creator is and who we are. This can also reduce the level of fornication, as written in 1 Corinthians 6: 12-20, which is a problem in the Corinthian church. For women, God has given advice on how they should look, as written in 1 Timothy 2: 9-10 "So should women. Let her dress properly, politely and simply, do not braid her hair, do not wear gold or pearls or expensive clothes. But let her dress up with good deeds, as proper as for women who worship." For field research, the results of the respondents provided information that all statements contained in the questionnaire (P1-P21) were understood to be good. Keywords: Clothing
