ABSTRACT THE MEANING OF NOT DOING THY BUSINESS AND PLEASURE RELATED TO NATIONAL CELEBRATIONS ON SABBATH DAY BASED ON ISAIAH 58:13 AT SDA CHURCH OF KEBUN KEMBANG CIMAHI Pinantun Simanjorang NIM: 1211018 This research was conducted at the Seventh Daya Adventist Church of Kebun Kembang Cimahi about the Meaning of Bussiness and Pleasure related to National Celebrations ond Sabbath Day Based on Isaiah 58:13. There are five indicators in this research, which are: (1) The Theology of Sabbath; (2) the meaning of not doing thy pleasure based on Isaiah 58:13; (3) The meaning of not doing thy bussiness based on Isaiah 58:13; (4) The permition of national celebrations on Sabbath; (5) Biblical view about constraint of national celebration on Sabbath day. This research is divided by two, in theoritical manner and practical manner. In theoritical result is about how people leave all the wordly things on Sabbath day and focusing only to worship God. But, when the tradition combined with worship, the focus is not God alone, but human pleasure. The meaning of not doing your pleasure on Sabbath day is estrange all the worldly things that can brings to your own pleasure and avoid the business that has to be finished on work days. Not doing thy business on Sabbath day meanings not doing your own ways that can brings to worldly pleasure, physical pleasure, even the administration business. Teoritical reslut in this research shows that the national feasts on Sabbath day can be perform with some constraints. This is biblical and can be proved through the Purim feast in the book of Esther. This celebration can be held on Sabbath, because the Jews celebrate it for two days every year, and it was possible to be performed on Sabbath. The constraints for the national celebration on Sabbath by remembering the true goal when God created Sabbath, understands the true meaning of worship and considering the contradictions in the New Testaments about receiving the tradition in the Christian worships. The practical manner is about the respons of Kebun Kembang church members through questioners to those indicators above. The research was shared to 30 repsondents of Kebun Kembang church and the result shows that the members had a good understanding about Theology of Sabbath, this can be proved by the result of the research that the mean value is 4.79 which means that the respondent agree about those statements, even some of them doubt. Kebun Kembang church member also agree and had a good understanding to the statements about “not doing thy pleasure”. This can be shown by the value of mean is 4.39 with the interpretation agree. About the meaning of “not doing thy bussiness” have 4.40 value of mean with the interpretation is agree which means the church member has understand about all the statements. For the statements about “National celebration on Sabbath day”, the mean value is 3.20 with interpretation in doubt. The last indicator is about “Biblcal view about national calebrations on Sabbath day”, the mean value is 3.85 which means the church member agree about those statements, but majority of the respondent were in doubt about that. Through this research, researcher get the data that the church member need more help to understand about the concepts that still in doubt. Based on the questioners, church members in Kebun Kembang has aenough understanding, but there were some things that needs to be improved by the church member, especially about national celebration on Sabbath worship.
