ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF FINANCIAL LEVERAGE ON PROFITABILITY IN TELECOMMUNICATION SUB SECTOR COMPANIES LISTED IN INDONESIA STOCK EXCHANGE Arranged by: Indisia Sably Sagala NIM: 1631041 This study aims to determine the effect of financial leverage on profitability in telecommunications sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2014-2018. The method used in this research is descriptive method, using Debt to Equity Ratio analysis, Return on Assets, descriptive statistical analysis, correlation coefficient analysis, determination coefficient analysis, significance test, and linear regression analysis. Based on the results of this study indicate that the correlation coefficient between financial leverage with profitability there is a relationship of 0.460 included in the interpretation of the relationship level is quite strong, in the analysis of the coefficient of determination we can show that the contribution of financial leverage with using the DER ratio in influencing the profitability change was 21.18%. Based on the significance test it was found in this study that there was a significant influence between financial leverage and profitability in the telecommunications sub-sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2014-2018, it can be seen from the significance test value of 0.020 <0.05 which means that Ha was accepted, and Ho rejected. Thus interpreting that there is a significant influence between financial leverage on profitability . Keywords: Financial Leverage, Profitability
