ABSTRACT UNDERSTANDING OF THE USE OF TEACHING AIDS AND PARABLES IN THE TEACHING PHILOSOPHY, AS WELL AS THE IMPLICATIONS FOR THE SCHOOL TEACHER OF CHILDREN AT THE SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH INDONESIA PUBLISHING HOUSE BANDUNG, BASED ON MATTHEW 13:34-35 Sabatho Fedrick Simbolon NIM: 1511021 In this research, it examines the understanding of the use of teaching aids and parables in the teaching philosophy, as well as the implications for the school teacher of children at the GMAHK Indonesia Publishing House Bandung, based on Matthew 13:34-35. This research is divided into two parts, namely theoretical research and field research. The results of theoretical research are a review of theories about props in the teaching philosophy. The biblical explanation of the use of teaching aids in the philosophy of teaching in Jesus' day and in modern times. A description of the function of teaching aids in the teaching philosophy. This study includes 4 parts, namely: (1) Overview of theories about props in the teaching philosophy. Some experts state that teaching aids are a device that can be absorbed by the eyes and ears with the aim of helping teachers and students so that the teaching and learning process is more effective and efficient. (2) The use of teaching aids in the philosophy of teaching in the days of Jesus and in modern times. Based on the Bibles in the Synoptic Gospels explain that Jesus used teaching aids in teaching, such as: humans (small children, poor widows, sinful women); nature (birds, fig trees); objects (currency, bread, wine). While for this modern age props can be applied, in the form of: audio devices, projected props and props that are not projected. (3) The function of teaching aids in the teaching philosophy. Experts say that the function of teaching aids is: maintaining concentration, overcoming the problem of time constraints, overcoming the limitations of language, arousing human emotions, conveying concepts with new forms, increasing understanding, increasing student memory, and adding freshness to learning. The results of field studies conducted through questionnaires were distributed to 30 members of the Indonesia Publishing House Seventh-day Adventist Church, Bandung, where a questionnaire containing 33 questions resulted in a data which concluded that the respondents had good views on all indicators, would but lacking in terms of its application.
