ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF PROFITABILITY AND LIQUIDITY ON FINANCIAL DISTRESS IN SUBSECTOR PROPERTY COMPANY LISTED ON THE INDONESIA STOCK EXCHANGE Written By: Michael Valentino NIM: 1732050 The research was conducted with the aims of knowing how the Profitability, the Liquidity, the Financial Distress, and the effect of Profitability and Liquidity toward Financial Distress. This research was conducted in Sub Sector Property Companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2018 and the sample of selection procedure uses purposive sampling with the number of Sample obtained are 50. This research design used descriptive method with quantitative approach. Dependent variable and independent variable measured by the ratio scale. The analytical method used in processing statistical data is logistic regression include descriptive analysis, Classification result, Hosmer and Lemeshow’s Goodness of Fit test, Nagelkerke R test, Significance test of individual parameters, and maximum likelihood test. The results showed that profitability in the property sub-sector was in the unhealthy category, liquidity in the property sub-sector was in the good category and financial distress in the property sub-sector was in the healthy category. The results of the individual parameter analysis state that profitability has a significant effect on financial distress of 0.018, liquidity has a significant effect on financial distress of 0.005 and in the simultaneous significance test there is a significant effect on profitability and liquidity on financial distress with a significance value of 0.000.
