Technical Advisor : Dr. Alvyn Hendriks, M.Min. Completed Date : September 24, 2019 The church is believer who professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. The church is the family of God raised as His children. The church is the bride for whom Christ died so that He can sanctify and cleanse her. The church is the body of Christ, a community of believers headed by Christ. The church is also like a billboard in the middle of the world that attracts people to Jesus Christ and to His Spirit. Usually, billboards are established in the middle of the city and on the side of a highway. A place where numerous people pass by so they can read, with the hope that people will come or feel attracted to the things offered. The Word of God in 1 Timothy 4:8 (KJV) says, "For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come." Worship does not only unite the people in the church, but must have a broader impact on the lives and spirituality of the church members. Maintaining body shape with exercises is indeed useful for health. But more than that, maintaining pure and holy worship is more beneficial for this current life and for the life to come. Though the presence of God in worship is not physically be seen but the meeting between God and His people takes place during worship. The purpose of all worship services and church meetings are to worship God for the work of His creation and for the sake of His salvation; to understand His word, His teachings, and His purposes; to be friends with one another in faith and love; to testify of one's faith in the Christ's atoning sacrifice on the cross; and to learn how to fulfil the gospel command to make disciples throughout the world (Matt. 28:19, 20). The worship system which is also called the church liturgy, is a part of the worship service itself. Ordinances of worship are made so that the church members can worship in ways that are determined together. Our worship should not only be seen as something pitiable and distressing, but must be able to create an exciting atmosphere. Therefore this research was conducted to obtain the truth that the worship services performed by the church can have a profound influence and impact on the lives and spirituality of the church members.
