KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL MAHASISWA DENGAN PERILAKU MAKAN DI KAFETARIA DAN NON-KAFETARIA DI UNIVERSITAS ADVENT INDONESIA
XMLABSTRACT TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS STUDENTS WITH EATING BEHAVIOR IN THE CAFETERIA AND NON-CAFETERIA AT ADVENT UNIVERSITY, INDONESIA Grace Angelina Nainggolan NIM: 1351061 High cholesterol levels in the blood or hypercholesterolaemia caused atherosclerosis or constriction of blood vessels. Atherosclerosis is an important factor supporting the incident of coronary heart disease. Eating foods with high cholesterol contribute to the increase in blood cholesterol. Vegetarians have better health quality. This group has lower total cholesterol, triglycerol and LDL levels than meat eaters. This study aims to analyze differences in total cholesterol levels of students who consume food in cafeterias and non cafeterias at Advent Indonesia University.This research used Quasai experimental design of research design with Two Group Pre-Test and PostTest Design in two different groups ie group consuming UNAI (A) and non-cafeteria (B) cafeteria food for seven (7) days treatment. This research is a student at Advent Indonesia University, the amount of sample in this research is 40 student student chosen by purposive sampling. From the result of the research with statistical test, there were no significant differences between the two groups during the seven (7) days of treatment. With total cholesterol levels before and after treatment in normal threshold. From the results of this study it can be concluded that vegetarian food consumed from UNAI and Non-cafeteria cafeteria foods has no significant effect on the increase or decrease in total cholesterol levels. So it can be concluded based on this research that consuming good vegetarian food to maintain total cholesterol levels within normal limits. For the field of research, it is expected that the results of this study can be used as a basis for development and research related to total cholesterol and food levels over a longer period.
