ABSTRACT THE DIFFERENT CHOLESTEROL LEVELS TOTAL BLOOD BEFORE AND AFTER GIVING WATER STEW OF RED BETEL LEAF (Piper Betle. L. Var. Rubrum) IN PEOPLE WITH HYPERLIPIDEMIA IN AGAPE SEVENTHDAY ADVENTIST CHURCH PONTIANAK Devi Tiurma Siahaan 0951049 The patients with hyperlipidemia in Indonesia was very high, that can lead to many complications. Red betel leaf containing high level flavonoid and tanin benefit to decrease blood cholesterol levels. The purpose of this research is to find a significant difference of total blood cholesterol level in hyperlipidemia patients before and after giving water stew of red betel leaf in Agape Adventist Church Pontianak. Methods used is the experimental method. The determination of samples is age 35-45 year who have total blood cholesterol level more than 200 mg/dL. Giving water stew of red betel leaf is conducted during 5 days in the morning and afternoon. Examination of total blood cholesterol total done on 6th day after giving water stew of red betel leaf on the last day. Data revenue total blood cholesterol level calculated by using formula of mean, then to find differences through hypothesis test with two sample t-test. The result of this research indicated the average score total blood cholesterol level before giving water stew of red betel leaf is 241,25 mg/dL. Then the average score of total blood cholesterol level after giving water stew of red betel leaf is 192,35 mg/dL. Statistically, there is a significant difference between before and after giving water stew of red betel leaf with t-hitung (4,486) and t-tabel (2,048) which means Ha earned (H0 denied) which significance in degree of freedom 95%.
