ABSTRACT CHOLESTEROL LEVELS DIFFERENCE HYPERCHOLESTEROLEMIA PATIENTS BEFORE AND AFTER GIVING JUS Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L) TO RESIDENTS CAVALRY RW 11 BANDUNG WEST DISTRICT PARONGPONG Name : SIMON PETRUS HUTAURUK NIM : 1151023 Thesis is motivated patients with hypercholesterolemia is classified as a very dangerous disease, that not less than 20% of patients with stroke caused by an excess of cholesterol and 50% of patients with heart disease caused by high cholesterol. Researchers observed the residents who live in the Cavalry suffering from hypercholesterolemia and do not know the benefits of cucumber juice. The purpose of this study is to see the difference in total cholesterol in patients with hypercholesterolemia before and after giving jusmentimun (Cucumis sativus L) in citizen cavalry, Bandung Barat. The method used in this research is a method of preexperiment with one group pretest-posttest design. The population is male adult suffering from hypercholesterolemia. Samples in this study were 8 people chosen by convenience sampling. The instrument used was easy touch digital measuring devices, test strips, lancet and pieces of documentation to record levels of total cholesterol respondents. The results showed that prior to the administration of cucumber juice, total cholesterol was included in high cholesterol. After giving the juice of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L), total cholesterol levels dropped to normal range. There is a significant difference from the provision of cucumber juice on levels of total cholesterol Men in patients with hypercholesterolemia. Suggestions for the health sector Cavalry RW 11 Bandung Barat subdistrict Parongpong expected to be input to provide health education about the benefits of cucumber juice to the decrease of total cholesterol. These suggestions are expected to be applied by patients with hypercholesterolemia in Bandung West Cavalry, as one alternative to lowering levels of total cholesterol. For research, this can be used as a baseline to develop research with a larger number. Key word: Cholesterol, cucumber juice
