The church is called to preach about God and His deeds to people who have fallen into sin so they can get back to know God and get salvation. Jesus said, "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." John 17.3. God is love and those who are called to introduce God must grow in love for Him and for others. The Apostle John wrote, "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. "1 John 4: 7, 8. This is proven throughout biblical history that every people of God who truly believe in Him have love for their neighbor, both their brothers and sisters. the people around them. Starting from Abraham, Joseph, David and Jonathan, their great faith in God led them to grow in love for God and for their neighbor. God is love and those who are called to introduce God must maintain brotherly love among them so that people know that they are disciples of Jesus as Jesus said in John 13:35 "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." This is what the Apostle Paul affirmed in several of his letters so that the disciples of Jesus, Christians will continue to love for one another, which is then called again in Hebrews 13: 1, "Let brotherly love continue." By maintaining brotherly love, a Christian will grow to perfect love like Jesus so that he not only loves his brothers and sisters in faith, but loves others to be led to Jesus Christ to obtain salvation. This research was made by the author with the following objectives: first, to find out the understanding of church members about the meaning of maintaining brotherly love in church life, second to find out the understanding of church members about how important it is to maintain brotherly love in church life, third to find out if there are the influence of maintaining brotherly love in the church towards the spiritual growth of church members and fourth to find out whether there is an effect of maintaining brotherly love in the church towards the growth of evangelism in the church.
