ABSTRACT THE CORRELATION BETWEEN THE CRITICAL THINKING ABILITY AND THE BEHAVIOR OF SELF-PRACTICE LEARNING OF NURSING PROFESI OF ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY OF INDONESIA Julia Devia Christine NIM: 1351041 This thesis is written based on the research which done by Supratti & Ashriady in 2016. According to the research, there was an inappropriate nursing-care that performed by nurses. In order to perform the nursing care, the critical thinking ability is required. The purpose of this thesis is to know whether there is a relationship between the critical thinking ability with the behaviour of self-practice learning of nursing profesi of Universitas Advent Indonesia. The methodology used by the researcher is correlative-descriptive methodology. The population that is used to support this thesis is nursing profesi of Universitas Advent Indonesia which amounted to 52 students. The research instrument consisted of 11 questionnaires about the variable of Critical Thinking Ability and 15 questionnaires about the variable of Self-Practice Learning which formulated by Pertami's theory (2015), DaIami’s theory (2012), and Waluyo-Feryanto-Haryanto’ theory (2008). Based on the questionnaires that have been given, the critical thinking ability of nursing profesi of Universitas Advent Indonesia is high. Besides that, the behaviour of selfpractice learning of nursing profesi of Universitas Advent Indonesia is good. There is a significant relationship between the critical thinking ability with the behaviour of self-practice learning of nursing profesi of Universitas Advent Indonesia. The result of the research can be used as a strategy to improve the critical thinking ability of nursing profesi by keeping the bachelor curriculum in nursing clinical practice. This research also can be used for more spesific care-nursing research by adding confounding variable. Keywords: Behavior, Critical Thinking, Nursing Profesi, Self-Practice, Skill
