ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BREAST SELF-EXAMINATION KNOWLEDGE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE UNIVERSITAS ADVENT INDONESIA STUDENTS Romayanti Panggabean NIM: 1251045 This research is based on interview of 50 female nursing students in the dormitory that rarely do the SADARI. This makes them potentially late in detecting the breast tumor. The purpose of this study is to know the relation between the knowledge with the implementation of breast self-examination in the girls’ dormitory of Universitas Advent Indonesia. The method used in this study is descriptive correlation. The population used in this study are the female nursing students in the nursing dormitory of Universitas Advent Indonesia which amounted to 110 people. The result of this study shows that the level of knowledge of SADARI on the nursing students in the nursing dormitory of Universitas Advent Indonesia in very low with a percentage of 39%. SADARI on the nursing students in the nursing dormitory of Universitas Advent Indonesia is rarely done with the percentage of 0,93. There is no significant relationship between the knowledge with the implementation of breast selfexamination in the girls’ dormitory of Universitas Advent Indonesia with the values of tcount – 0,197 ttabel 1,659 which means that H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected with a significant extent on the 95% level of confident α 0,05. The result of this study is expected to be an entry to the dean the Nursing Faculty to direct the maternity lecturers to input SADARI into the teaching materials. In the field of research is expected to be used as baseline data to develop further research on the effect of the education intervention on the level of knowledge and the implementation of breast self-examination in Universitas Advent Indonesia.
