ABSTRACT DESCRIPTION OF FAMILY SUPPORT AND DEPRESSION LEVEL ON ELDERLY IN WORK REGION PUSKESMAS PARONGPONG SUB DISTRICT PARONGPONG DISTRICT WEST BANDUNG Maria Adelina Purba Nim: 1351059 According to the National Socioeconomic Survey (2014) elderly households in Indonesia as many as 16,08 million or 24.50% of all households in Indonesia and the elderly in Indonesia in 2014 reached 20.24 million people. The purpose of this study is to identify the description of elderly depression level and family support for elderly, the method used Descriptive quantitative, 30 elderly people to measure depression level and 30 family members to measure of family support. The instrument used is questionnaire scale of elderly depression and questionnaire of family support. Get results Good family support of 33,33%, moderate family support of 30%, family support less than 36.60%, no depression by 10%, mild-moderate depression by 36,66% and major depression 53,33%. Conclusion: The level of family support in RW 13 Cihanjuang Rahayu Village Parongpong District is moderate family support and the scale of elderly depression is moderate depression. Recommendation: field of nursing using the results of this study as a reference and health education to elderly family members of the importance of family support to the elderly, elderly families are expected to increase support for the elderly in order to reduce and avoid depression in the elderly from moderate to mild and the results of this study can be used as a reference and materials to be developed in subsequent research on the dif erence of depression level of elderly before and after taught family support to elderly to elderly family member or looking for dominant and less dominant family support.
