ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to design and implementation of network monitoring system based on Nagios which servers to facilitate network administrators in network monitoring with Nagios, network monitoring will be easier no need to access a network administrator to monitor network devices. The method used in this essay is the observation that the system us running in the company Holcim, check the IP address of the several departments, interviews to parties concerned and the study of literature. Test to determine if the design is made to run well. The results achieved are using a network monitoring system Nagios on FreeBSD Operating with impaired notification by email on the server. Besides functioning or network monitoring, Nagios can provide notification to admin who had intended by email. Conclusion is obtained by monitoring system using Nagios that has been developed to simplify network admin Holcim in monitoring networks such as knowing the status of the many hosts and network devices.
