ABSTRACK EFFECT OF GOSPEL MUSIC THERAPY ON THE LEVEL OF PAIN MENSTRUATION FOR STUDENT AT RUTH HALL DORMITORY UNIVERSITY OF ADVENT INDONESIA Liliyani Ataupah NIM: 1151048 Music can give the effect of a reduction in heart rate, reduce anxiety and depression, relieve pain, and lower blood pressure (Campbell, 2001). Spiritual music providing coolness in our hearts and brings peace in the soul (Ellen G White:2013). The general purpose of this research is to see the differences level of dysmenorrhea before and after gospel musical therapy for student at Ruth Hall dormitory Universitas Advent Indonesia. The researcher used pra experiment with one group pretest posttest design methode. The Population are student that have frequently pain during menstruation period with moderate level of pain, and without using medicine to release the pain. There are 20 student selected by purposive sampling for giving their response to this research. The instrument used was NRS (Numerical Rating Scale), Laptop has filled with gospel songs of some artist Mike Mohede “Kemenanganku”, Maria Shandi “Allah Mengerti”, and Mike Mohede ft Maria Shandi “Kusembah Kau”, speaker, pen and paper. The result of this research shows that the level of pain before gospel musical therapy is 4,8 and after therapy during 12 munite, pain level decrease to 2,65, that is categorized mild dysmenorrhea and the t-count value (15, 069) > t-table (2, 093) with the trust rate is 95% (α = 0,05) which means that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. The conclusion of this research is there is a difference between the severity of dysmenorrhea before and after gospel musical therapy for student at Ruth Hall dormitory Universitas Advent Indonesia. Advice for UNAI student can apply gospel music to decrease level of pain during menstruation. Key words: Dysmenorrhea, Menstruation Pain, Gospel Music
