PENGGUNAAN ANTISEPTIK ALKOHOL 70% DAN OCTENIDINE DIHYDROCHLORIDE 0,1% PADA PROSEDUR PEMASANGAN INFUS UNTUK MENCEGAH PHLEBITIS

ABSTRACT THE USE OF ANTISEPTIC ALCOHOL 70% AND OCTENIDINE DIHYDROCHLORIDE 0.1% ON MOUNTING PROCEDURE INFUSION TO PREVENT PHLEBITIS Shella Beatrix NIM: 1251065 Phlebitis is a problem that often arises in patients receiving intravenous fluids. Antiseptic of alcohol 70% and Octenidine Dihydrochloride 0.1% proven to be effective against a wide range of microorganisms on the skin so it can reduce the incidence of phlebitis. This study was conducted to determine the difference in the incidence of phlebitis between the use of antiseptic alcohol 70% and Octenidine Dihydrochloride 0.1%. This study was an experimental study using Post-Test Only Design. This research was carried out by administering an antiseptic alcohol 70% and Octenidine Dihydrochloride 0.1% to the subject of study as many as 50 people were divided into 2 groups: 25 subjects were smeared alcohol 70% and 25 subjects who applied Octenidine Dihydrochloride 0.1%. Samples were selected using purposive sampling method to inpatients at the University Clinic Adventist of Indonesia. Data acquisition phlebitis scale value is calculated using the median, then proceed through the test statistics Mann-Whitney test showed no significant difference numbers with p = 0.317 α> 0.05 decreased incidence of phlebitis in patients hospitalized for 3-4 days of treatment. The study was conducted in order to be useful as one of the options in the use of antiseptic catheter infusion. Keywords: Alcohol 70%, Octenidine Dihydrochloride 0,1%, Phlebitis
