ABSTRACT ELDERLY DEPRESSION LEVEL IN THE WORK AREA OF COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER PARONGPONG WEST BANDUNG Fany Christin Adolina Simbolon NIM: 1751055 Depression which is a mental disorder or feeling can be experienced by the elderly when adapting to environmental stress. The purpose of this study was to: identify the level of depression of the elderly, identify the most dominant conditions felt by the elderly, and identify conditions that are less dominant for the elderly. The method used in this study was descriptive method involving 48 respondents in Karyawangi Village RT 3 RW 9 Parongpong District, West Bandung who met the sample criteria. Data collection using a Geriatric Depression Scale questionnaire with total sampling. The results of this study found that the level of depression in the elderly was included in the level of severe depression, which was as much as 63%, the most dominant state felt by the elderly is a problem associated with memory, and the situation that is less dominant felt by the elderly is about unpleasant life of the elderly. For the next researcher, the results of this study are expected to be developed by conducting research on activities that can reduce depression or activities that can improve elderly memory.
