ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF MODIFICATION NURSE UNIFORM TOWARDS ANXIETY LEVEL OF PRE SCHOOL CHILDREN WITH A HOSPITALIZATION Arranged by: Geraldi Putra Kristiawan NIM: 1751059 Children who are sick and treated at the hospital can cause anxiety which results in disruption of the healing process and growth in children. One of the causes of anxiety in children is the use of conventional nurse uniforms which are white uniforms, for some children nurses using white uniforms are identical to going to "hurt" so the child becomes anxious. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using color-picture vests by nurses on the level of anxiety of children with hospitalization. The research design used was quasi-experimental. The population of this study was pre-school age children (3-6 years) and the technique of determining the sample was purposive sampling with a total sample of 40 respondents, the child's anxiety level was measured using the Face Smile Scale. The results of the study: in the control group or nurses who are using conventional clothes were moderate anxiety while in the intervention group or nurses who are using pictorial vests there was no anxiety. There is a significant difference in the level of anxiety of pre-school age children with nurses using white clothes and nurses using color-picture vest dresses with a value of ρ value (0.000) <α (0.05). Suggestions for supporting non-pharmacological therapy or atraumatic care in preventing the occurrence of anxiety in children, one of which is by modifying the nurse's uniform by using a color-picture vest with attractive and funny motifs.
