ABSTRACT NURSES’ CARING BEHAVIOR ON PATIENTS IN MEDICAL SURGICAL INPATIENTS ROOM OF RUMAH SAKIT ADVENT BANDUNG Riris Octavian ID: 1651073 This study is motivated by various studies which states that nurses still show low caring behavior to patients. This study was conducted to obtain a description of the nurses caring behavior on patients in medical surgical inpatients room of Rumah Sakit Advent Bandung. This research uses quantitative approach with descriptive survey method. The samples used were 80 patients treated at medical surgical inpatients room of Rumah Sakit Advent Bandung. Sample in this study was selected by purposive sampling technique. The instrument used to measure nurses caring behavior is the Caring Behaviors Assessment Tools (CBA) questionnaire. The results showed that nurses caring behavior on patients in medical surgical inpatients rim of Rumah Sakit Advent is very good. The most dominant caring behavior item performed by the nurse is the nurse treating the patient as a self-esteem human being, the nurse is always ready to help meet the patient's needs, and the nurse visits the patient's room to check the patient's condition with very good interpretation. The less dominant caring behavior item performed by the nurse is the nurse knows what the patient is doing, the nurse encourages the patient to express his feelings, and the nurse reports the patient's health progress to the patient's family with a good interpretation. This research is expected to be a consideration for alk the nurse in applying caring behavior to improve the quality of nursing service and can be developed in subsequent research.
