ABSTRACK THE TABOO DURING PREGNANCY, GIVING BIRTH AND POSTPARTUM OF THE MOTHERS ON THE SUNDANESE VILLAGE PASIRLANGU RW 01 KECAMATAN CISARUA Nita Marlina NIM : 1551006 Some mothers in the Sundanese still use a lot of taboo practices during pregnancy, giving birth and postpartum. The purpose of this study to know the taboo during pregnancy, giving birth and postpartum. This study uses qualitative methods with a phenomological approach through indepth interview techniques. The research informants were six Sundanese mothers who had experienced pregnancy, giving birth and postpartum using the snowball techniques. The result of the study experience taboo practices during pregnancy, giving birth and postpartum on the Sundanese mothers in Pasirlangu RW 01 resulted 6 categories, namely: culture, world view, healthy system, cultural care, environmental and health context. The results of research for the things that should not be done by pregnant women such as not eating pineapple because it is believed to inhibit fetal growth so that it can cause miscarriage, eating salak is believed cause to redness on the baby’s skin, out at the night believed by the mothers of Sundanese will approached by the supernatural being so that they wearing sawen“penitik”, eating using large plate is believed the baby will be large when giving birth. When giving birth something that is still often done is that it is forbidden to lift the buttocks because it is believed to make a bigger tear in the vagina and during the postpartum the things that should not be done is a nap believed to have an impact on the mother's eyes and leaving the baby at night is believed will be approached by supernatural being. The conclusion of this study is that there is still a taboo practice for Sundanese mothers at Pasirlangu RW 01 in Cisarua sub-district. From these results the researchers suggested to nurses or health workers concerned to carry out health promotion to the mothers of the practice of taboos during pregnancy, giving birth and postpartum.
