XMLABSTRACT Thesis Title : THE ANALYSIS OF THEADVENTIST PASTOR ROLE AS A TRAINER TO INVOLVE THE CHURCH MEMBERS OF NORTH SUMATERA MISSION IN EVANGELISM BASED ON BOOK 1 CORINTHIANS 9: 19-23 Researcer Name : Rijon Situmorang Degree : Master of Science in Philosophy Advisor : Dr.Stimson Hutagalung Date of Finish : May, 8th 2017 In this study, researchers describe in chapter one is the problem tobe Investigated : TheAdventist Pastor role as a trainer to involve the church members ofNorth Sumatera Mission in evangelism based on book1 Corinthians 9: 19-23.The greatest problem experienced by the churches today in connection with the execution of the missionary task of the Gospel, especially in North Sumatera Mission, majority of the congregations are not winning souls. Most of them think that it is the duties of the pastor because they are paid for it. “There is a tendency for most Christians, the longer they become believers, the less they mingled with unbelievers. Because evangelism is not natural for most of them, it often even ignores it altogether”. Steve Gladen, Memimpin Kelompok Kecil dengan Tujuan (Yoyakarta: Penerbit Yayasan Gloria-Katalis, 2012), 200. How are these issues addressed and sought by the ministers' way out for church members to be actively involved in evangelistic ministry? This is what will be discussed further in the next chapter as well as the issues identified hereinbelow. In chapter one the authors identify the following problems: 1. Some Seventh-day Adventist Church Pastors serving in the Northern Territory of the Northern Territory have not performed their roles and responsibilities as trainers to involve church members in evangelism. 2. Some Pastor of the Seventh-day Adventist Church who pastor the congregation in the Northern Territory of Sumatera lacks the understanding of Paul's concept and method of evangelism based on 1 Corinthians 9: 19-23. 3. Some Pastors of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of the Northern Territory The Northern Territories have not yet applied Paul's Principles and methods of evangelism based on 1 Corinthians 9: 19-23 The purpose of writing and research that will be done is: First, to find out how far the Pastor of The Seventh Day Adventist Church who serves in North Sumatera Mission has implemented its role and responsibilities as a trainer to involve the members of the Church in evangelism. Secondly, to find out to what extent did the Pastor of The Seventh Day Adventist Church who pastored the churches in North Sumatera Mission understand Paul's concept and method of evangelism based on 1 Corinthians 9: 19.19-23. Third, to find out to what extent Seventh Day Adventist pastors who pastored congregations in North Sumatera Mission have applied Paul's evangelical principles and methods based on 1 Corinthians 9: 19-23 to be applied in the evangelism and training the members of the congregation. Research method that writer use in preparing this Thesis Composed two parts: Library method and Field Data. Field data is made through descriptive method. A method in human group research, an object, a system of thought or a contemporary event whose purpose is to obtain a systematic, factual, and accurate picture of the facts, traits and relations or phenomena in question. The number of respondents who have filled out questionnaires from Number 1-30 point about 53 people. Analysis is needed to determine whether data analysis for testing can proceed or not. Some data analysis techniques require test requirements analysis. Variant analysis requires that data come from normally distributed populations and groups that are homogeneous. Therefore, variant analysis requires validity, reliability, normality, linearity, hypothesis and descriptive statistics. Conclusions in this study are First, Pastors delegate evangelistic tasks to members of the church. The Seventh-day Adventist Church Pastor of North Sumatera Mission as a trainer has performed its role to train and involve members of the congregation in evangelism been good. Viewing the result of Descriptive Statistic Test there are 85.2. Second, The Pastor agrees that an evangelist should not convey the whole truth on one occasion, so that the understanding of North Sumatra Mission as a trainer still needs to be improved on Paul's method of evangelism in 1 Corinthians 9: 19-23. Third , in false rebuke, the Pastor always does so with gentleness and sympathy and in sharing the gospel with others, the Pastor is always wise, kind and hospitalized. This indicates that the pastor of North Sumatera Mission as a trainer in applying Paul's method of evangelization in 1 Corinthians 9: 19-23 is good. This can be seen from the results of Descriptive Statistics Test that the value of this application is the highest when compared with the pastor's understanding of Paul's evangelistic method based on 1 Corinthians 9: 19-23 (X3) of 4.53. While the pastor's role as a trainer in involving members in evangelism (X1) The second rank with 4.5. value. While The priest's understanding of Paul's evangelism method or (X2) is in the final sequence with a total of 4.44. In the last position. Fourth, The Seventh-day Adventist Church Pastor of North Sumatra Mission aged 26-35 or young Pastor have the lowest average score of only 4.2. and the highest are senior pastors with a value of 4.75. Viewing this data then it is concluded a lot of experience for the direct plunge of the field will be more real understanding and application of the pastor to his role as a coach in involving members in evangelism. The implication of this study is one implication for evangelism is not the number of people who attend church services, but how many are involved and go to serve. Many pastors find it difficult to practice this, even if they believe in it theoretically. It is often easier to do one's own work than to invite others to do it. The suggestion in this study is that the Pastor needs to evaluate himself and his service to the extent to which he has performed his role assignment and undertook training in involving members of the Church in every evangelistic missionary venture for spiritual growth and spirit of soul attraction. He needs to develop and reorganize how the pastor performs his role as a trainer to involve the members of the Church involved in evangelism and awaken the members of the Church to their duties and responsibilities in evangelism. From the latest Descriptive Statistics Test results per Education that pastors with S2 and S3 educations are higher than those with undergraduate education, this shows that the percentage of ministers' role in involving members in evangelism based on 1 Corinthians 9: 19-23 is strongly influenced by educational factors. It is recommended that priests in the North Sumatera region of Sumatra can improve education to a higher level. Keywords: Role of Pastor, Trainer, Evangelist.
